People are always going to be on one side or the other as long as the two operating systems, Windows and Mac, still exist. Since there are benefits to both systems, and one will always be preferred over the other by the individual users. The computer has many uses, and a Mac is better for some and Windows is better for others, so you need to know why you need a computer, and buy one accordingly. There are advantages of each system, and we will place our focus on those areas.
The primary advantage of Windows based computers, for most people, is price. You can definitely get a computer with a Windows OS for much less than you can get for a Mac. Whether you’re shopping for laptops or desktops, quite a lot of money can be saved by choosing PCs over Macs. This means that when all you want from your computer are the basics: web surfing, emailing and video watching, you will probably be better served by choosing Windows OS based PCs. You might still have your reasons for liking Macs better, like how easy it is to use or the design it has, but you definitely have to pay more out of pocket for it. If you are looking for the lowest priced computers, though, Windows definitely has the advantage over Mac.
If you follow technical news, you may be hearing a lot about Windows 8, the next major upgrade of the Windows operating system. For a few users this is going to cinch the debate between choosing a Windows and a Mac PC because Windows is hinting at some extraordinary new features with the newest upgrade. More importantly, Windows 8 is going to give you the option of using your computer as a tablet and will have a very functional touch screen. Of course, you’ll still be able to employ a traditional mouse and keyboard. Of course, as of this writing, Windows 8 has not yet been released. 2012 is the earliest that this OS will be released. By then it is definitely likely that Mac is going to come up with something that will rival those features.
If you sit at a computer a lot, you might want one that you like its design and appearance. When it comes to the design, many people like the Mac. When designing their products, Apple put a lot of effort into having ones that were high functioning along with being ergonomic and attractive. Apple products are more expensive than the majority of other brands, and this is a major reason why that is. As long as you are willing to take the time to look, you can find an appealing computer that is Windows-based. The looks are something to think about, but the most important factor of a computer isn’t the design.
There are a lot of reasons that you may prefer Windows or Mac OS.
